Thanks to the internet, here in 2013 we are constantly finding ourselves shopping online, purchasing anything from beautiful pieces of oak furniture, right through to top of the range cars; there are throughout the summer however, a few fantastic craft shows dotted up and down the country. Thanks to our Northampton local dentist friends for their contributions.

Whether you are searching for hand made wicker baskets, fantastic pieces of art, or just a few cheap tit-bits for your bedroom, within craft shows you can find beautiful pieces of home ware for very appetising prices.

With that in mind, here are a few of the best found throughout Britain over the next couple of months:

The Kent County Show - Kent, July 12-14, 2013

Based at the Clive Emson Hall, The Kent County Show is set to be the county's most lively craft event this summer.

From card making workshops, through to local food stores, the show is simply packed with exhibits selling, teaching and demonstrating a whole range of arts and crafts to take home.

Lowther Show, Cumbria, August-10-11, 2013

Based on the beautiful Lowther Estate in Penrith, the Lowther Show is one of the Lake District's largest summer fairs.

With field competitions including clay shooting, archery, carriage driving and angling, the show offers visitors a great range of activities, besides of course viewing some of the most unique arts and crafts available in the county at over 200 stalls.

Featuring live music, superb local ales and some of the most unique homemade foods available, purchasing an advanced ticket is a must for all Cumbrians.

Craft Village at the Cheshire Game & County Fair, August 24-26, 2013

With the Cheshire Game & Country Fair now celebrating its sixth year, 2013 is set to be the biggest and best year yet.

Set not only to have crafts, but also falconry, scurry racing, gundog displays and enough food and drink to spill into Lancashire, the Craft Village itself is located within the centre of the show, just opposite the main arena; forming in its own right, a show all by itself.

With special demonstrations from the Blacksmith’s Guild, you can be assured that the Craft Village offers a very unique and satisfying day for all.

Tickets for the show can be bought online for just under £10.

The Grantchester Fair - Cambridgeshire, August 31, 2013

Described as the 'premier promoter of craft and country shows', The Grantchester Fair is one of Britain’s largest and most varied craft shows.

Including entertainment set for the whole day, the fair is but only a short walk or bike ride away from the centre of Cambridge itself.

With the Companion Dog Show also being hosted at the event this year, the show is open from 10am through to 5pm and could well be worth a visit.
