Halloween: Part 2 - Throwing a Frighteningly Fun Kids Halloween Party!
Halloween is creeping up behind us, which means its time to start planning a spooky Halloween party filled with ghoulish games and frightening foods to get your guests howling with delight! Dont be horrified by the idea of throwing a Halloween party, these frightfully fabulous party ideas will ensure your party is the best in the neighbourhood!
Frightening Feast
Its not a party without a tasty feast, so give your little ones a Halloween party thats out of this world with some freaky food ideas. Keep things balanced between savoury and sweet, as you never know how much sugar will be collected once the trick or treating begins! Finger hot dogs are a great hit, simply shave the top of the Frankfurters and place them in the bun. Add some tomato sauce and youve got yourself some freaky finger hot dogs!
Another great Halloween themed food is some Witches brew. Cook some pea and bacon chowder and pour them into small cauldron type mugs (black mugs). Then you have yourself a tasty, filling meal that wont just taste great, but will look the part too!
Moving onto terrifying treats, as it wouldnt be Halloween without some trick or treats! From freaky fingers made from chocolate to spooky jelly, you can create some really spooky treats and emphasise the Halloween feel. Cover your oak dining table with a spooky Halloween table cloth and fill it with treats for your little ones to enjoy. Some great ideas include a Pumpkin Fruit Face, simply stick lots of cocktail sticks into your pumpkin and add fruit to them similar to a skewer, this is a great way of adding some of their 5 a day to the party! For some sugary shocks, marshmallow eyeballs made from marshmallow pieces, smarties and a food pen will create a haunting look for the table! Why not add some scary skeleton gingerbread men to the mix too! The more the merrier!
Ghostly Games
Halloween is a great time to have some fun and get your little ones into the Halloween spirit! By setting up some ghostly games, you could reward the winners with some spooky sweeties or a tasty treat! One very popular Halloween party game is to stick the spider in the web. The aim of the game is to position the spider in the centre of the web without looking! Sticking to the creepy crawly spider theme, a game of spider races is also sure to get them screaming with laughter! Using a straw, you need to blow your spider to the finish line before your opponent does! These games are great fun but also really quick and easy to create!
Petrifying Presents
Party bags and goodies are always a great hit at the end of any party, and weve got some great Halloween themed ideas to make your party bags better than the rest! Using a rubber glove (clear) fill with sweeties and simply tie the glove at the top with some black ribbon. This will create a spooky hand filled with sweets for your little ones to take away and enjoy! If youre wanting to make some smaller ghoulish goodies for the little ones to have, ghostly lollipops are great! Using some kitchen roll or even toilet paper, wrap the paper around the top of the lollipop and secure with an elastic band! Then, draw a spooky face onto your lollipop and you have yourself some ghostly lollys!
