Louis French Ivory Headboard

With Spring officially in the air, we’re surrounded by new life and brighter days. With this in mind, it’s a great time to inject some new life into your home. It’s easy for a room to lose its character over a period of time, however it’s so easy to bring it back with a few small changes. Your bedroom is the one room you should find relaxing, cosy and inviting. Your own sanctuary for peace and quiet, and it’s really important your room reflects this for you.

Bedding

Your bed is the main feature of your bedroom, as it’s usually the first thing you see when you enter the room. As your bed takes up the majority of the space, it’s important to make sure you dress it well and create an inviting, cosy feel. Sticking to the colour scheme of your bedroom, select a nice duvet cover that suits your style, and match this up with two larger pillows. Adding two extra pillows with plain pillowcases to sit behind is always good, as it enables the bed to look larger and fuller, creating a cosier effect. If you want to really create a strong image, you may want to purchase a statement cushion. This would look great placed in the centre of the bed, giving character and a little extra to the design. If you want to go that extra mile, you may find that a headboard would suit your bedroom perfectly. You could go for a beautifully designed French style headboard, or even a simple Oxford Contemporary, either way you will be adding great detail and character to your room.

Bedside Tables

Next you have your bedside tables. It’s important to ensure you have a table on either side of the bed, from a matching range. Your bedside table is your saving grace, whether you use it to keep your phone, alarm clock and glass of water, or even to have a bedside light along with your best book sat close by for when you feel the urge to put your feet up and relax. By ensuring your tables match, will create a lovely element of symmetry that will draw your bedroom together and create the perfect homely feel.

Wardrobes

Wardrobes are the perfect solution for storage. Not only do we use them to keep our clothes neat and tidy, but we are all guilty of putting extra items in there to prevent them from taking up too much extra space in the bedroom itself. Make sure your wardrobe is right for you, whether you go for a smaller wardrobe with an additional chest of drawers, or you go for a larger wardrobe with lots of fancy compartments, you need to be sure it will work best for you. Again, having a matching bedroom suite will really help create that pristine, stylish look with added sophistication.

Finishing Touches

Finally, you have your little extras that make your bedroom unique to you. Placing items such as a feature mirror on the wall will add a sense of space to the room, as well as helping to reflect natural lighting and of course be of great use to yourself. You could also add items such as a statement chair or stool, placed in the corner to add a little more character and colour to the room. Try and stick to the colour scheme when doing so, as it will ensure your room compliments itself well and reflects your individual style perfectly. Flowers and household plants are another great addition, especially if you want to add life to the room. Bringing in extra colour and creating a beautiful aroma, flowers will brighten up your bedroom and bring the beauty of spring into your room.
