Heat stains can be an absolute nightmare and mark wooden furniture fast seemingly from nowhere (one should never
underestimate the usage of coasters).

Well, if you have absent minded guests round to visit who tend to take the ‘your house is my house’ approach to
settling in – you may want to look out for where their placing their coffee cups. You can guarantee that 9/10 times
these visitors will be the culprit to scarring your favourite butchers table of ornate oak table.

This will inevitably happen within the home, but rest assured here’s a few tips that take the heat out of the stain
and restore your furniture back to its former glory:

1. Treat the burn stain with gentle wipe from a clean damp cloth, further heal this with a tiny
dollop of teak oil, let the oil soak in until the surface is dry.

2. Secret Tip: Smear a tiny wedge of butter over the stain until it is fully covered – this needs to
be left covered for 12 hours so that the wood can absorb the oily properties. After 12 hours – scrape or wipe of any
excess with a clean kitchen towel.

3. Add some heat: Lay a clean white cloth or piece of linen over the heat stain. Set your iron
onto medium heat
and smoothly circle around the affected area. You should begin to see some of the stain
lighten.

4. Apply and gently rub wood polish into the spot where the heat stain used to be.
