Welcome to the second instalment of our Inspiring Interiors feature. Each week, we will be looking at a particular interior design blog and focusing on what makes their homes so beautiful and thought out. By doing so, we hope to help you find the most inspiring interior design blogs out there, to help you create your dream home. After all, here at Oak Furniture we don’t just sell furniture; we sell quality furnishings that will take pride in your home.

This week’s inspiring interior comes from Young House Love, written by married couple Sherry and John. Young House Love has seen them fix up three homes, write two books, and create their own lights, hooks and rail collection.

The use of off-white walls throughout the house, such as the pale blue in the kitchen, allows for a clean living space without an overly clinical feel. It also lessens the need for coloured accessories, meaning that the overall tone is more sophisticated and elegant than if it had white walls and bright accessories.

Each room features various grey and blue hues, which creates a harmonious feel throughout the entire house. The gorgeous hardwood flooring throughout the home adds richness and warmth, without detracting from the cooler tones used on the walls and ceilings, and the small touches throughout the house, such as the potted plants and geometric cushions, create a refined, finished look.

Despite how beautifully put together Sherry and John’s home is, it is relatively simple to get. Clean, cool toned walls, rich wood flooring, solid oak tables and cabinets, monochrome furniture and key coloured accessories will help you to reach that classic vibe so well sought after in interior design.
